Women and Christianity

Women and Christianity, Women in Christianity

In this article we shall discuss about women’s value/role in Christianity from the Bible by using context. Women are always degraded before the Islam arrival but when Islam arrived the women have gain their values which were distressed.

Let’s start with reading the Bible, what does it says:

Woman created from / for Man

Adam was first created according to different sources of Christian sacred text. According to Christian missionary first Woman (Eve) was created from the rib of first Man (Adam). Do you know what is a rib?

A bony and cartilaginous structure which surrounds the thoracic cavity and supports the pectoral girdle, forming a core portion of the human skeleton. (Wikipedia; Human rib cage)

Now, for getting proof from Bible that woman is created from Man’s rib. Here it is:

So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. (Genesis 2:21-22)

This clearly shows that Eve was created from the rib of Adam while he was in deep sleep. By taking one of his rib and closed up the place with flesh and bones. After that the woman was created.

More verification needed, let’s get another two verses from the holy book of Christians:

For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. (1 Corinthians 11:8-9)

Now if you are Christian, it is fully confirmed for you about this fact which taken from the Bible. I am not misinterpreting the biblical verses but it neatly states.

Men are glory of God but Women are glory of Men

These are also among the verses claiming by us that women are degraded if Christians follow their sacred book. But most of the Christians not follow, thus they are inferior to women everywhere. However, a man who is a good servant of God (i.e. follows what God asks for) has a high degree if comparable to the woman who is also a good maid-servant of God (i.e. follows what God says).

As written in the Bible,

If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head. A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man. (1 Corinthians 11:6-7)

It is obligatory for every Christian woman to cover her head because she is glory of his husband instead of God, so it is the insult for her husband if she didn’t veils. If she does not cover her head, she must shave his head hairs otherwise veil is needed. But it is not necessary for every men to cover his head because he is the glory of God, therefore the glory of God will be seen clearly.

Nevertheless, it is not inferiority of women but superiority of men over women because they are responsible for their meal, drink and other expenses. Of course man has a high level over woman. Women who are Christians should veil their heads in order to get modest, otherwise she is disgracing her husband’s reputation.

Women aren’t in charge of men but men are in charge of them

It is forbidden or prohibited for every women to teach his husband or to have the authority over her husband. Women are permitted to be in silence even if he does bad. Let’s take a look on this verse of the sacred Bible:

And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. (1 Timothy 2:12)

Females are permitted to be in silence even her husband is doing harm for her. This verse is complicated to understand but it is explained as usual text what the verse says. Also women are not permitted to talk or to speak in church but to remain silent.

I want to convert to Islam

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

If you want to convert from a particular religion to the Islam but you have many questions about it. These all are very simple and easy for any Muslim or Islamic believer.

Q. I want to convert to Islam. What to do?

Peace be upon you,

Allah has enlighten your heart towards the best and unique religion Islam. You must have a good intention in your heart to be a Muslim. You must not be of extremists nor hypocrites, this is strictly restricted after embracing Islam. Make sure your heart is completely satisfied and you have not any type of compulsion to convert from any specific faith to Islam. God will not identify you as a believer (Muslim) if you are not mentally/physically satisfied for converting. Because the God said in the Qur’an:

Let there be no compulsion in religion, truth stands out clear from error. (Qur’an 2:256)

There are some notifications which should be endorsed before accepting Islam. These notifications are:

  1. There is one God who is Allah. There is no God except him. He can do everything, he is everlasting, he is endless and startless. (also accept other names of Allah).
  2. God is neither male nor female. He is not an idle, He is spirit and light (Qur’an 24:36).
  3. Follow (must) the laws made by Qur’an and the Ahadiths (sayings of the prophet Muhammad pbuh).
  4. He created everything in nature, He created mankind, first Adam and Eve. He created this world, Heavens, and Hell.
  5. He sent his chosen noble servants (i.e. men) to convey people to the light, which are called prophets.
  6. There are almost 124,000 prophets of God which were arrived in different eras in different regions. In them 309 were given scriptures by God down to the earth and 4 were allotted holy books. These four were Moses, David, Jesus and Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all)
  7. These four holy books are Torah, Psalms, Gospel and Qur’an.
  8. Adam was the first prophet of God which is his servant.
  9. Prophet Muhammad is the last and final messenger/prophet of God which is his beloved servant.
  10. All prophets were Muslim (i.e. believer of the God and the final day)
  11. Qur’an is the final inspired word of God. It is unchanged, sent to Muhammad (P.B.U.H) for guidance of the world.

After endorsing these, you need to speak the following written Arabic text.

Note:- Reading Arabic is must to become a Muslim

“I bear witness that no one deserves to be worshiped except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah”

If you read this above text then you should bath and go to shower to wash yourself and change your clothes to some [pure] clothes.

Although we heartily congratulate you for becoming an Islamist. You need to perform Islamic obligations in order to be a perfect Muslim. If you not fulfilling the performances of the Islamic duties, then you are not a perfect Muslim. To perform these obligations you need advice. We shall surely provide you.

Islamic Duties

  • Five Times Prayer
  • Fast in every day of Ramadan
  • Eating & Drinking under dietary laws of Islam
  • Hajj (if you are capable)
  • Zakah (every year 2.5% of saving devoted to 7 poor men categories)

Islam is always a religion of peace and justice. God said in the Qur’an:

“And the servants of Allah are those who walked on the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say ‘Peace'” (Qur’an 25:63)

Points to be Noted

  1. Your all previous sins that you do in past (as an ignorant) will be forgiven according to Shariah law which is completely based on the concepts of Qur’an and Ahadith (sayings of Prophet Muhammad [Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and to his family]). If you do shirk (worshiped another deity other than God) before accepting you will be forgiven but if you do after it, it will never be forgiven by God.
  2. You need to learn ‘Salah’ (obligatory prayer) for praying five times a day. It is very necessary and if you do not obligate it, in the hereafter you will be one of the losers.
  3. Learn Arabic language, if you want to discover Islam more and more by reading the Qur’an with actual wording. It is not necessary nor complicated to understand. Qur’an is in Arabic language which is a derived from that of Hebrew language.

However, you can have more questions about Islam. We shall answer your appealed query if you comment below.
